SAMCO AS SPONSOR FOR BUS LIBRARY MODEL: BOOK BUS, A JOURNEY OF KNOWLEDGE AND FUTURE

    On April 19 afternoon, the HCM City Department of Transport said the Management and Operation Center for Public Transport marked Vietnam’s 5th Book Day (April 21) by launching a trio of products including the book bus, which serves as a mini library; the knowledge bus stop, a reproduction of a modern bus stop equipped with bookshelves; and the electronic information display on the HCM City Book Street.

The 1.5 m wide and 6 m long book bus serves as a mini library with wooden shelves, tables and chairs for readers, who need a quiet and creative reading space. It was designed in reproduction of the city’s bus route no. 8 - one familiar to students, operating between District 8’s station to Thu Duc University Village.

In addition to the book bus, visitors to the city’s Book Street can contemplate and read various books right at the “Knowledge" Bus Stop, equipped with bookshelves and wooden benches, with its book-shaped canopy. Also, readers and visitors can get free wifi access to find information on books and activities taking place at the Book Street and the city’s bus lines. The electronic information display is HCM City’s first model, a part of the plan to prepare for technological applications at bus stops of the Department of Transport.
