The office and auto trading & service building (SAMCO Tower) consist of two buildings implemented in two phases with a total area of nearly 11,000 m2. Phase 1: To the northeastern of the project is a 30-floor office building being constructed over an area of 5,336 m2 to be used as an area for displaying automobiles for sale and performing auto services (positioned in the 5-floor base block) and as an office area of the SAMCO Corporation (positioned in the 25-floor tower block). Phase 2: To the southwestern of the project is a 22-floor office building to be constructed over an area of 5,881 m2 to be used as an area for displaying automobiles on sale and as an office area.
Implementing one of the seven action programs according to the resolution adopted by the 10th HCM City Party Committee Congress, especially the traffic congestion reduction program, the SAMCO Corporation on 26 April 2017 started construction of the new Eastern Coach Station. Phase 1 of the project is expected to be completed in late 2017 to enable the existing coach station’s operations to be shifted to the new one, which will enhance service quality and concurrently help to reduce traffic congestion. The new coach station will help eradicate unlicenced coaches and their unprompted passenger pick-up and drop-off locations, thereby restoring the city’s traffic order.
The new Western Coach Station has been planned in detail by SAMCO and agencies with a 1:500 scale at An Phu Tay, Binh Chanh District. So far, they have collected public opinions about the project and this task is expected to be completed in April 2017. At the same time, SAMCO has prepared VND 726 billion for site clearance and Binh Chanh District People’s Committee said the compensation would be completed in the 3rd quarter of 2017. The total area to be cleared for the station construction will be 24.33 ha, including 17 ha for building the station and 4.33 ha for maintenance & repair depot for BRT buses and road limit in National Highway 1A.
